The Breacon Beacons
Is a mountain range in the South-East of Wales. It forms the central section of the Brecon Beacons National Park, one of Wales' three National Parks and is widely described as a mountaneer's paradise.
Talybont-on-Usk is commonly known as the gate way to the Beacons, as it offers so many different routes of different challenging grades, for walkers, cyclists and day tripping sight seers. The village itself is very pretty and offers a taste of local culture throughout. We can also boast four eatting/drinking establishments, that offer a wide selection of choises for everyones taste buds.
Winding its way through the village is the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. This you will find sneaking through the Brecon Beacons National Park for much of its length, the isolated Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal must rate as one of the prettiest to be found anywhere on the waterways system. It closely follows the valley of the River Usk, whech is also a water supply for the line, and meets with the derelict parts of the Canal at Pontymoile.
